The parameter describes tricupsid insufficiency leading to blood regurgitation from the right ventricle to the right atrium and venae cavae in diastolic phase. This pathology is named "tricupsid valve failure".

The second part of the formula describes the process of blood regurgitation through tricupsid valve in diastolic phase in case of valvular locking defect (0 < r_VLHR< 0.3). In its normal state r_VLHR takes on the value 0.
