Measurement of volumes

Methods of measuring the volume of blood in different parts of a blood channel is the generic name volumetry. Measurement of blood volume, capillary and venous reservoirs is not possible because of conditionality and uncertainty boundaries of these sites.

Continuous monitoring of ventricular volume during the cardiac cycle is difficult. More are available to measure its maximum value (of course-diastolic volume - CDV) and the minimum value (of course-systolic volume - CSV). CDV and CSV in steady-state conditions are measured by methods well echocardiography. Difference CDV - CSV is ventricular stroke volume. In a stable periodic mode stroke volume of left and right ventricles are equal among themselves.

The product of ventricular stroke volume in heart rate determines the amount of cardiac output. The value of cardiac output, expressed in liters per minute, known as minute volume of the heart.
