Hypoxia This pathologic mode describes insufficient functioning of organism respiratory system, that leads to oxygen starvation (air hunger, air insufficiency, hypoxia). In its normal state saturation of arterial blood SpO2 is close to 1 and depends a littleand does not appreciably depend on changes in system parameters or on the system mode. But in case of organism oxygen starvation or changes in blood composition the decrease of SpO2 may take place. The mode is modelled by decrease of relatively normal value of "saturation of arterial blood". During hypoxia the heartbeat frequency, the arterial pressure, stroke and minute blood volumes grow (a compensatory reaction).
