The parameter is included in the differential equation for the value of venous oxygen concentration:

The parameter describes a transient speed under the change of exercise stress, i. e. with the advent of non-zero difference between oxygen demand and oxygen delivery. The parameter does not influence on periodical modes. It is not used during the modelling of pathologic modes.
