The parameter is included in mathematical description of the dependence of arterial pulmonary pressure from blood volume in the specified part of vascular system (27), (29). "Stressless volume in the specified part of vascular system" means blood volume in this part, if blood pressure is equal to atmospheric pressure

The parameter characterizes the dependence of arterial pulmonary stressless volume from nervous and hormonal influences and is used for modelling of pathologic modes, where effect of vasospasm exists. The well-known fact of less dependence of pulmonary vessels from nervous and hormonal (particularly, adrenal) influences is evaluated by smaller absolute value of this parameter in comparison with the parameter for systemic circulation (A₈).
