O9i-SQLOracle9i SQL Programming
This course offers students the profound introduction in technology of servers of the data. In course concepts both relational are discussed, and objective-relational databases and the powerful programming language - SQL is studied. Students will learn to create database objects and to store, extract and manipulate the data. Students will learn to select the data, using complex technologies, such as ROLLUP, CUBE, operators of vertical connection and hierarchical inquiries. Also they learn about the new additions of language SQL which has appeared only in the version 9i. Demonstratings and practical exercises will allow to fix the received knowledge. Upon termination of course students will learn:
- to understand main concepts of relational and objective-relational databases; - to know how to do sampling, addition, upgrade and deleting of the data; - to control transactions; to create database objects and to work with them;
- To control data access; - to make inquiries with usage of multicolumn subrequests, subrequests in sentence FROM of SELECT command, dependent subrequests and scalar subrequests; - to use GROUPING SETS and sentence WITH; - to use complex engineering for sampling the data with help ROLLUP, CUBE, operators of vertical connection and hierarchical inquiries; - to use new functions Oracle9i for DATETIME and functions NVL2; - to execute multitabulared INSERT commands and to use external tables (External Tables); - to use simple iSQL*Plus commands; - to use iSQL*Plus for creation of reports. Necessary preparation Starting to learning course, students should: to know concepts and engineering of data processing; to have skills of operation from operating system UNIX.
