O8TSQLOracle8 applications customization
This course gives the student a hard basis for comprehension of art of customization of SQL-operators. The main purpose of course - to give necessary knowledge and skills for effective customization of the applications working with server Oracle8. Students understand main principles of the optimization based on rules (Rule) and cost (Cost). The theory is supplemented with practical occupations which allow students to study a subject at an own level and in individual rate. In course resources of diagnostics SQL represented: EXPLAIN PLAN, SQL TRACE, TKPROF and OEM SQL. Questions of influence on operation of the optimizer are considered by change of physical design of the circuit and syntax of SQL-operators.
Upon termination of course students can: To describe reasons of problems with productivity. To describe main steps of processing of SQL operators. To understand a place of customization of SQL-operators in common methodology of customization. To use tools of diagnostics for collection of the information on processing SQL-operators. To apply alternate access methods to the data. To change physical data model for improvement of productivity of the application. To understand operation of the optimizer based on rules (RBO), and the optimizer based on cost (CBO.) To change behaviour of the optimizer.
