Usage of Cisco network equipment


The course is base for preparation of network administrators and is devoted to questions of configuration of commutators Cisco Catalyst and routers Cisco in multilegal local and medium-sized wide-area networks.

the Program of course:
Upon termination of course students will learn:
- to fulfil base configuration of routers and commutators Cisco;
- to segment a local network with the help of commutators Catalyst 1900 and 2950;
- to configurate address safety on the basis of MAC-addresses on commutators Catalyst;
- to organize virtual local networks (VLAN), to customize a trunking (ISL and 802.1Q), VTP protocol, routing between VLAN;
- to configurate static routing and protocols of dynamic routing: RIP, IGRP, EIGRP, OSPF;
- to solve safety issues the help of lists of access control (ACL);
- to customize translation of addresses (NAT, PAT);
- to customize PPP protocol with usage of mechanisms of authentification PAP and CHAP;
- to configurate ISDN BRI and PRI, Dial on-demand routing (DDR) on BRI-interfaces (Legacy DDR, Dialer profiles);
- to customize Frame Relay on physical interfaces and сабинтерфейсах.

Necessary preparation
Starting to learning course, students should:
- to understand base network concepts and network terminology;
- to understand a role which is played with commutators, routers, bridges, hubs in local and wide-area networks;
- to know about the protocols used in local and wide-area networks, routings and commutations;
- to know about model ISO/OSI and a stack of TCP/IP protocols.
